If you have an online store, or you want to set up an online store, using Facebook is an easy and effective way to lift the sales of your business. Facebook Shops is a page which enables a platform for you can sell your products through to reach a wider customer base.

Facebook Shop is a free and simple tool. And it is very mobile-friendly. Using FB shop you can manage your store easily by using your smartphone. Shop let you to choose the category of your items.
Facebook is the largest social network in the world, that has more than 1.09 million FB users logging on daily and spending an average of 58.5 minutes on it. why don’t you want to promote your store or business in such active and bigger platform? You would be able to connect with customers through WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram to communicate about your items.

There are two ways to use Facebook Shops to promote your store:


  1. Use Facebook shop platform to create your Facebook Store and list your products and let your customers to shop and buy your items. This is a more basic way of selling.
  2. Use an eCommerce website builder to create an online store or use the existing store, then link your products to your Facebook Shops. This way your customers redirect into your eCommerce store when they require to buy the items.

In this article, I will take you through how to set up Facebook Shop. 


What is Facebook Shop?

A Facebook Shop allows you to sell products through your Facebook Page. You need to have a Facebook business page for your business. Please note you must have a business page in order to set up the Shop.
A Facebook business page is separate your personal page. I am not going to go through how to set up a Facebook business page here. There are so many good articles available to follow how to create a business page.  

How to Setup Facebook Store

Step 1:

First, you navigate to your Facebook business page. You need to be an admin on the business page. By default, many Facebook business pages already view the Shop tab when you're logged in. if you can not view it just click on settings and select “Template and tabs” on the large menu at the left side.

Then it will show you all the tabs that you currently using. Scroll down to the bottom of the list and click “Add a Tab”.

Now find “Shop” and click Add Tab. So this will add Shop tab to your FB business page.

Step 2:

In order to get started the Shop, click on Shop Tab which views on your business page.
Next, you need to agree to the seller’s Teams and Policies. Make sure you read and understand them before click Continue.

Then prompt a message, how you’d like people to buy products from your shop.
It provides two options to select, “Message to buy” or "Checkout on Another website”

You can select checkout on another website option if you already have an online store that is established on the e-commerce platforms such as Shopify or WooCommerce.

Step 3

Now you can add products to your Facebook Shop:
Go to the ‘Shop’ tab on your page and click Add Product.

Next upload your products pictures and videos. Then add the product name, price and description of the product. You need to add at least a single image of the product. Also, don’t forget toggle the button to share your product on your page.
After entering all the required details click save. At this stage, you need to wait for Facebook to review and accept your product. Usually, this process takes a few minutes. Once FB accepts it you will receive a notification and your item is visible.

What about Facebook Marketplace?

Facebook Marketplace also still available. it is a great alternative tool to setup Facebook store. If you are just looking to sell only a few items, you don’t need to worry about setting up a shop. You can use the marketplace. Facebook marketplace able to access using your personal account.
